Owner/Clinical Mental Health Counselor
At Athena Counseling, our mission is to provide compassionate and professional support to individuals seeking mental health and emotional well-being. We believe that everyone deserves a safe space to explore their thoughts and feelings, helping them navigate life's challenges effectively.
We have providers who see children (age 9+), adolescents, adults, couples, and families.
We have providers who are LGBTQ+ affirming, and some who offer couples or family counseling. Each client is approached with unique needs, goals, and challenges. We will work together to formulate the approach that meets your specific needs.
All of our providers are trauma-informed.
How often do you get an hour that is devoted entirely to you?
If your insurance has Out of Network (OON) benefits, we are happy to file a claim on your behalf, or provide you with a statement to submit to your insurance company.
Please see the tab titled
"No Surprises Act"
to view your rights to receive care from an Out of Network Provider.
You are welcome to pay out of pocket so that insurance benefits are not utilized, or if you do not have insurance benefits.
Out of pocket expenses range from
$120 - $150 per session, including tax.
We accept credit/debit/HSA/FSA cards only at this time, and securely store your credit card information.
Please see the tab titled "No Surprises Act" to view your rights to receive care outside of insurance benefits.
Payments, including co-pays/co-insurance and/or deductibles, are due at the time of service.
Depression and anxiety are common emotions that can negatively impact us in all areas of functioning. Through counseling, you will have tools in place to help you recover your motivation, change your perspective, and once again find peace and joy in your life.
Couples counseling is beneficial to those who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection in all stages of their relationship: pre-marital, marital, or a collaborative approach to the end of a relationship.
Parents/children sometimes need help communicating and understanding one another.
Blending families can have unique challenges. We can help.
We honor and respect the sacrifices our active duty military personnel and veterans, as well as first responders, have made in the line of duty. We have providers with extensive clinical experience to help active duty and retired military personnel and their loved ones, as well as our local, state, and federal first responders.
We have providers who specialize in treating issues surrounding substance use disorders and addictions.
Our providers are trained in addressing trauma-related symptoms to include past physical, sexual, medical, emotional, and neglect abuse. Additionally, one's exposure to a traumatic event, or witnessing a traumatic event that happens to others, can lead to symptoms of
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
We have providers who specialize in helping clients navigate grief and loss, and the path to reclaim acceptance and happiness in their lives.
Our providers are well-rounded in various mental health issues. If your concern isn't listed here, please feel free to reach out and ask if we can meet your needs. If not, we are happy to refer you to trusted colleagues.
The first step is asking for help.
